About the Dash for Dad 5K Race and ZERO Prostate Cancer
The Dash for Dad supports ZERO, the Project to End Prostate Cancer. ZERO’s mission is to end prostate cancer. This great 5K occurs in 27 different cities across the country.
When you participate in one of these events benefitting ZERO, you’re helping to raise proceeds for prostate cancer research as well as free prostate cancer testing for those at risk.
About Prostate Cancer
Prostate cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer-related death in males in the United States. Each year 218,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer. That’s one new case every 2.5 minutes.
In addition, 1 man out of every 9 men will have prostate cancer in his lifetime.
The good news is that according to ZERO, the survival rate is high if you catch cancer early.
So how do you get a diagnosis? The best way to find out if you have prostate cancer is to see your doctor for regular screenings.
