In today’s posting, we’re excited to introduce Rachel, a 180 Medical Confirmation Specialist, as she explains her role and how her experience has shaped her job since starting with 180 Medical in 2020.
Rachel, tell us about your role as a Confirmation Specialist at 180 Medical.
I just celebrated my one-year anniversary of working for 180 Medical as a Confirmation Specialist. As a Confirmation Specialist, I call our customers about seven to fourteen days before their monthly orders to make sure they are ready for their shipments and to adjust their orders. This way we can make sure we are following insurance requirements while guaranteeing that our customers are not overstocked or running out of their much-needed supplies. It’s a balancing act to receive urgent requests as well as be proactive and ensure everything is as it should be.
What accomplishments are you most proud of at 180 Medical so far?
I have grown so much since starting just a year ago, and I have become more confident in myself with each day! I won Top Team Performer for the Second Quarter of 2021, and that was really special for me! When I first started, I was really nervous about my new job, but this reward reminds me that I can do anything I set my mind to!
Do you have any advice for someone considering applying for a job at 180 Medical?
Go for it! Working for 180 Medical is really amazing. If you have a passion for helping people, this is where you want to be! Don’t be afraid to apply because you’re not familiar with the supplies our company has to offer. I would encourage anyone to do some research, but 180 Medical does a really great job of providing you with the knowledge and training to be an expert in your field!
What is special about working at 180 Medical?
I love working as part of a team. I never feel like I have to do something alone. My team is there if I ever have a question or if I need an idea on how to better assist our customers. I love the open communication we have with each other and with our supervisors too!
We work with a lot of customers and we want to keep track of them to make sure any issues or problems are fixed. I have one customer that I follow up with each month because at the end of last year he had a stroke and had a difficult time finding the right products. Well, I was able to finally find a product he would be able to use. The gratitude he expressed was uplifting, and knowing that I was able to take an already difficult time and make it a little better was very special to me.
Tell us a bit about life outside of work.
When not working, I love to cook and bake with my daughters. We enjoy having our friends over to try out our new recipes. You will also catch my family at either soccer games or softball games as my daughters are starting to play sports.
I really want to travel to Greece! I’m a huge fan of the culture and history, and I would love to share that with my family.
