What is your average day like as a Urology Territory Sales Manager?
My typical day is spent meeting with nurses and physicians throughout my territory, which consists of the state of Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan. I essentially act as the face of 180 Medical. In my role, I manage our relationships with urology offices, hospitals, and clinics that refer their patients to 180 Medical for catheter supplies.
Due to the size of my territory, I do a decent amount of driving each day to several clinics and hospitals. Also, I make phone calls and manage emails. Every day is different and requires a lot of multitasking to effectively maintain the relationships already in place while working to develop new ones. I collaborate consistently with my Office Coordinator who assists me in managing my territory. Then, our awesome Catheter Specialists work to ensure the best possible service and care for our customers.
What’s the best part of your role as a Urology Territory Sales Manager?
First, each and every day, I have the opportunity to make the lives of physicians and nurses easier by assisting them with their patients’ catheter needs. I enjoy giving them the peace of mind that when they refer a patient to 180 Medical, they can know and trust we’ll take care of their patient with the same care and compassion as they would.
Also, I love having the autonomy to run my territory the best way I see fit. This helps ensure that both 180 Medical and I are successful. As a Urology Territory Sales Manager with 180 Medical, having your own territory gives you freedom and flexibility. You choose where to focus your time and energy and how to tackle each day.
Do you have any advice for someone considering applying to 180 Medical?
I’d ask, does the job position interest you? Do you genuinely want to make a difference in people’s lives with the work you do? Do you want to work for an organization with values of integrity and compassion? If so, don’t think twice. 180 Medical truly cares for the customers they serve and the employees that work for them. So go for it!
How do you like to wind down after a day of work?
When I’m not working, I enjoy spending time with my wife Lizzie and our two families. I was born and raised in Wisconsin and have been a Green Bay Packers fan since I was young. There’s nothing like a Packers game with family and great food on a Sunday! Also, my wife and I thoroughly enjoy cooking and trying new foods (we’re both foodies) and spending quality time together. When I have time to myself, I like to collect and enjoy wine. Then I work it all off by doing CrossFit!
Tell us about a time in your job where you felt you made a difference in someone’s life.
One of my most memorable moments of directly touching the lives of a customer happened about 6 months into my time with 180 Medical. Late in the day on a Friday afternoon, I received a phone call regarding an individual who was recently discharged from inpatient rehab after being in an accident. He was running low on supplies before the weekend, and his initial order wouldn’t arrive until the following day, so I decided to take him catheter supplies to tide him over. I was able to meet with him, demonstrate the catheter products, and give him a few tips since this was all new for him. He thanked me and was so grateful to have the extra catheters.
Afterward, his wife walked me to my car, and we ended up talking for almost an hour. While I may have helped her husband who had a physical need for catheters, I was also able to help her just by listening and talking about their difficult situation.
This is one of my favorite things about 180 Medical. We don’t just supply people with intermittent catheters. We also create a relationship by providing guidance and support when it matters most for our customers and their families.
Do you have a favorite inspirational quote?
“He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” – Micah 6:8
This verse exemplifies how I desire to live my life and interact with others, rooted in my faith in Jesus Christ and my relationship with Him.
